After a season of sitting on top of the KingCo basketball league, the Juanita girls fell in their first post season game, losing 52-50 to Bellevue in overtime.
During Tuesday’s game, the first for the Rebels in the KingCo tournament, Bellevue was up 15-13 at the end of the first, and continued to hold the lead at the end of the first half.
After three quarters on the court, Bellevue had 29, while Juanita had 27. The Lady Rebels fought through the fourth quarter to tie the game at 42 points. In overtime the Wolverines hit 10 points, while Juanita made eight to end the game.
Juanita senior Kate Cryderman had 29 points during the match, with Mikayla Jones adding 15. Bre Carter, Mary Carter and Molly Grager all had two points.
The Rebels will play cross town rival Lake Washington on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. for third/fourth place in league. Both teams are guaranteed spots in the SeaKing district tournament, but will play for seeding.
