Juanita, Lake Washington to play cross town basketball rivalry on Friday

Five players scored in double figures for the Juanita High boys basketball team as the Rebels rolled to a 75-55 conference victory over Interlake on Dec. 13 in Bellevue.

Ravi Regan-Hughes and Zach Miller both scored 16 points and Regan-Hughes led the team with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Ryan Trautmann scored 14 points, Brighton Maughan scored 13 points and Cameron Knowles added 10 points.

The Rebels (2-1 KingCo, 3-2) have won three games in a row, including a 75-54 win over Sammamish on Dec. 6 and a 64-60 nonconference win over Snohomish on Dec. 10.

Next, Juanita is scheduled to play Lake Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Juanita Fieldhouse.

Bellevue 83, Lake Washington 56.

The Wolverines went on a big run in the second quarter, outscoring Lake Washington 24-4 en route to a big conference victory on Dec. 13 in Bellevue.

Lake Washington (0-2 KingCo, 1-2) had a Dec. 9 home game postponed after school was closed due to weather concerns. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 9.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Juanita 66, Interlake 35.

The Rebels beat up the Saints for a big conference win on Dec. 14 in Bellevue.

Juanita (2-1 KingCo, 3-2) has won two games in a row after back-to-back losses on Dec. 2 and Dec. 5. Next, the Rebels are scheduled to play Lake Washington on Dec. 16 at Juanita High School.

Bellevue 74, Lake Washington 38.

Kang junior Sydney Olson scored 11 points to lead Lake Washington in a conference loss to Bellevue on Dec. 14 in Bellevue.

Freshman Jen Estes had seven points and three rebounds.

The Kangs (1-1, 1-3) have lost two in a row after beating Interlake 46-45 on Dec. 7.

WRESTLING

The Juanita High wrestling team beat Bellevue, 65-11, on Dec. 14 at the Juanita Fieldhouse.

The Rebels improved to 2-0 in KingCo duals.

Next, Juanita is scheduled to compete in the Lindbergh Invitational tournament on Dec. 17 at Lindburgh High School in Renton.

The Lake Washington High wrestling team had a dual scheduled for Dec. 8, but the event was postponed due to weather. The Kangs are scheduled to open KingCo action on Dec. 15 at home against Liberty.
