The Juanita High School girls basketball team was on a roll. Undefeated through 13 games, the team looked unbeatable. But that all came to an end Wednesday night as Liberty pulled off a huge upset, 61-54, thanks to a huge fourth quarter in Issaquah.
The Rebels are used to dominating teams but the Patriots showed life from the start, trailing by just three points after the first eight minutes of play and by one at halftime. Juanita extended that lead slightly to 40-37 by the start of the fourth quarter.
But that final frame was a nightmare on defense for Juanita, allowing nearly double the points of any other quarter. The Patriots outscored the Rebels 24-14 during the final eight minutes of the game.
Jaisa Nunn led Juanita with 23 points, while teammates Shannon Brink and Shalexxus Aaron each finished with 10 points.
