Liberty defeated Juanita, 28-7, and Bellevue beat Lake Washington, 7-0, in 2A/3A KingCo football action on Friday night.
For Juanita (3-2 overall), Isaiah Eubanks scored on a 41-yard run and Tjitjihaanda Muundjua kicked the PAT. Eubanks rushed 12 times for 128 yards and had eight tackles
On the LW side, it was a stellar defensive game between the locals and Bellevue (No. 3 in 3A and No. 10 in the state). LW’s defense held Bellevue scoreless until the final 55 seconds of the game. According to LW Football Operations Director Pat Whaley, the Kangs notched many defensive stops, behind-the-line-of-scrimmage tackles, forced turnovers and a Bellevue fumble on their goal line that resulted in a touchback on the 20 for LW instead of a touchdown for Bellevue.
Nick Anderson had 12 tackles and Brady Gockel had 10 tackles for LW. Both were career highs for the Kang defenders. Tyler McCormick recovered two fumbles, one at the goal line to stop a Bellevue score.
LW is 0-5 overall.
Juanita will play at Mercer Island and LW will travel to Liberty on Oct. 5. Both games are at 7 p.m.
