Thirteen Kirkland wrestlers delivered strong showings at the 3A KingCo-Wesco sub-regional at Juanita High and advanced to the regional tournament this weekend at Kelso High.
For Juanita, there’s Khai Truong (120, third), Braden McNeff (132, fifth), Leon Kawahara (138, third), Andrew Doughty (152, fifth), Noah Adam (195, third), Collin Vanwyk (220, fourth) and Elias Stipe (285, fourth).
From Lake Washington, there’s Deron House (106, fifth), Chase Martin (120, fifth), Kai Furutani (126, fifth), Kyle Earl (138, fifth), Ryan Watson (145, second) and Faris Khilfeh (220, second).
Edmonds-Woodway won the sub-regional and the Wesco title. Juanita had an undefeated 3A KingCo dual meet season, and as the highest placing KingCo team at the sub-regional took the KingCo title.
Juanita’s Kevin Corbett was named KingCo Head Coach of the Year and Juanita’s Jordan Krich was named KingCo Co-Assistant Coach of the Year.
