Rebel starter Lisa Nelson struck out 11 batters and allowed two hits as the Juanita High softball team beat Interlake 10-0 in KingCo 3A action on Friday in Kirkland.
Nelson struck out all but six of the batters she faced, leading the Rebels (12-5 overall, 12-3) to their fifth win in a row.
Juanita exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the third inning, the biggest jump coming via a two-run double from Brynn Radke.
Radke finished 2-3 with two RBIs and a pair of doubles. Briar Swayne hit a double as well, finishing 2-2 with 3 RBIs.
Next, the Rebels are scheduled to play Lake Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at Lake Washington High School. Any combination of a Lake Washington win or a Juanita loss over the final three games will lock the Rebels into the league’s No. 2 seed for the league tournament.
