The Juanita softball team continued its winning ways Wednesday by beating Skyline 4-1 at home. But this win came via the big bat, as the Rebels blasted two home runs during a game for the first time this season.
Juanita got on the board during the bottom of the fourth with a single run and then added three more during the bottom of the sixth to pull away. The Spartans scored their only run during their final at bat.
Kelly Shinstrom and Gina Swan both hit home runs to account for three of Juanita’s four runs. Swan finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Shinstrom was 2-for-2 and added a double.
Allison Rhodes picked up the victory from the pitching circle, going four innings and striking out seven hitters. Kylie Sparks earned the save, throwing the final three innings.
Juanita will travel to Woodinville for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch Friday.
