The Juanita girls swim and dive team earned an eighth place finish at last weekend’s KingCo swimming championships, while Lake Washington took 16th overall.
The Rebels earned 275 points, while Newport won the KingCo title with 603 points. Lake Washington had 87 during the competition.
Juanita’s Rachael Kurtz won the 50 freestyle event in a time of 24.79, while her teammate Celia Pinczower took home the diving title with a total score of 408.5.
Hanna Armstrong won the 500 freestyle race with a time of 5:19.07, just behind Eastlake’s Kara Beauchamp who won with a 5:16.94 race time.
Members of the teams who qualified for state will start with 3A preliminary races on Friday, Nov. 12 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way starting at 7 p.m. The finals will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
