Juanita volleyball blanks Bellevue, battles Mount Si

On Sept. 15, the Juanita Rebels volleyball team defeated Bellevue in three straight games (25-12, 25-13, 25-11). Dana Michels led the team with 17 kills and 9 digs, while Jade Finau had 30 assists and four aces, Alex Gollersrud put up 2 blocks and Lily Cole served 5 aces.

On Monday, Sept. 20 the team lost a tough match to the undefeated Mount Si Wildcats. Mount Si won three in a row 25-18, 24-14 and 25-19. On defense Alex Gollersrud again had 2 blocks and Elizabeth Tran had 9 tough digs. Offensively, Dana Michels had 11 kills and Jade Finau had 18 assists. Sarah Kendrick served 2 aces.

The Rebels are now 2-2 in league play. The team traveled to Liberty on Wednesday night, after reporter deadline, and will face Interlake on Monday.

The Lake Washington volleyball team fell in three games to perennial KingCo powerhouse Mount Si last Wesdnesday. The Kangs, who dropped to 0-4 overall, lost 25-12, 25-16 and 25-12 to the Wildcats.

Monday evening the team faced Liberty. The Patriots, off to a hot start in the league, beat Lake Washington 3-1. The Kangs won game one 25-22, but lost the next three 25-19, 26-16, 25-21.

The team faced Bellevue on Wednesday evening, after Reporter deadline, and will take on Sammamish next Monday, Sept. 27, at home.
