The Juanita wrestling team traveled to the Edmonds Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 8 where the Rebels earned an eighth place finished.
The top finisher for the team was Logan McCallum, taking second place in the 171 class. Jeremiah Laufasa was also second in the 215 class and Derek Reubish was third at 160.
Lake Washington wrestling team may be small, but competitive
The small but competitive Lake Washington wrestling team has been winning matches all season, catching the eye of various coaches and wrestlers across the state.
Senior Joel Navas, who wrestlers in the 125 class, is ranked 10th in the state, with an undefeated record in dual meets this season. Teammate and junior Jerry Petrechko, in the 171 class is ranked fourth in state, while junior Jack Michels is ranked third in the 215 class. Michels is undefeated in dual meets, having won all his matches with pins.
