Three missed games at the beginning of the season didn’t make a difference — Juanita High’s Salvon Ahmed was named the Class 3A KingCo Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in a Nov. 7 vote by conference football coaches.
Ahmed rushed for 13 touchdowns and more than 1,200 yards during his senior season, leading the Rebels to a conference title and a home game for the first round of the postseason.
Ahmed was also named a first-team all-conference running back and first-team corner, as well as a first-team kick returner.
Juanita coach Lele Te’o won Coach of the Year honors, winning the conference after a 1-3 start to the season.
Juanita’s Sebastian Garcia was one of two sophomores voted to the all-conference lists, offensive or defensive, as a first-team guard.
Juanita senior Christian Blackburn was picked as a first-team defensive end and second-team tight end. Senior Dean Sise also won multiple awards, as a first-team linebacker and second-team wide receiver.
Juanita junior John Nascimento was named a first-team defensive tackle/nose tackle.
