The Juanita boys’ team neat Liberty 90-50 and Inglemoor 81-64, while the Rebel girls beat Liberty 84-60 and tied 71-71 with Inglemoor.

Juanita sophomore Tamani Smart came close to her personal best in the 100 meters, winning in a time of 13.34 seconds. Smart also won the long jump at 16 feet, 6.5 inches — a new season PR — and won the triple jump at 34 feet, 7 inches.

Rebel senior Kelsey McLean won the 200 meters in 27.89 seconds, edging fellow Rebel Katie Ryan.

The Juanita girls’ 4×100 meter relay team was on form, as Smart, McLean, Shelby Wilks and Natalie Kalda combined to win in 51.09 seconds, the Rebels’ second-fastest time of the season.

Allie Knerr won the discus competition for the Rebels with a throw of 98 feet, 11 inches, while Rebel senior Carly Taylor cleared 4 feet, 6 inches to win the high jump. Sophomore Katrina Teo cleared 9 feet to win the pole vault.

The Juanita boys fared well in the sprints. Salvon Ahmed won the 100 meters with a time of 11.12 seconds, barely beating teammate Nathan Casebier. Ahmed took second in the 200 meters, falling to teammate Makiah Gilmer, who won in 22.51 seconds.

Casebier won the 110 meter hurdles in 15.35 seconds.

Juanita’s 4×400 meter relay team took first by just over a second as Brighton Maughan, Dane Garman, Scott Glickman and Diego Moctezuma set a time of 3:39.52.

Juanita’s Randy Jones won the 400 meters and the long jump, and took second in the triple jump by two inches.

Senior Noah Kells took second overall in the 1,600 meters, and freshman Ryan Graff took second in the 3,200 meters.

Tavin Montgomery won the javelin competition with a throw of 148 feet, 7 inches. Trevor Williams won the shot put, throwing 38 feet, 5 inches.

Next, the Rebels have 15 athletes —10 boys and five girls — scheduled to compete at the Bellevue Invitational beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Bellevue High School.
