With Thursday’s 67-39 win over Interlake, the Juanita girls basketball team clinched it’s first league title since 1987.
The Rebels finished the regular season with 16-4 overall record and 12-2 league record.
The win allows the Lady Rebels a bye going into the KingCo tournament, which begins this weekend. They will play their first game on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 8:15 p.m. against the winner of the Lake Washington, Liberty game which is played on Saturday.
The Juanita boys did not qualify for the playoffs and finished with a 4-16 overall and 2-11 league record this year.
The Lake Washington boys and girls both qualified for the KingCo tournament. The Lake Washington girls earned the No. 5 seed, while the boys earned the No. 5 seed. The girls will take on Liberty on Saturday night, while the boys will face Sammamish.
