The Lake Washington High School girls basketball team defeated Liberty, 57-53, on Wednesday in Kirkland.

Liberty began the game with a 14-9 advantage but Lake Washington cut the lead to just one bucket by halftime. The Patriots regained the lead before the final period of play.

But Lake Washington proved to be too much for the Patriots during the fourth quarter, outscoring the visitors 20-12 to win the contest.

Lake Washington was led by Hanna Brender with 14 points and Georgia Romine-Black with 13 points.
