The Lake Washington High boys’ golf team will be well-represented at the upcoming district golf championships on Oct. 25.
Three Lake Washington golfers finished high enough at the KingCo 3A championships on Oct. 10 at Snohomish Golf Course to qualify for the next round.
The top 15 golfers, plus two alternates, move on to the Class 3A District II championships.
Lake Washington junior Matt Uhrich finished in a tie for 11th overall and sixth among Class 3A golfers on Monday, cutting five strokes on the back nine for a 77.
Lake Washington juniors Eric Jessen (16th, 10th) and Montana Carranza (20th, 13th) also qualified with scores of 79 and 80, respectively.
Devin Andrews, a senior from Juanita High, finished in a tie with Redmond’s Sean Kato for sixth overall and fourth among KingCo 3A golfers. Andrews shot a 75, and was in a four-way tie for first through the front nine.
Andrews was among the best regular-season players in the conference, tying Sammamish’s Aidan Thain for first with 31 points in seven matches.
Juanita senior Jacob Hastings is the second alternate, and shot an 82.
Liberty finished first overall as a team with 379 points. Lake Washington finished fourth with 403 points and Juanita finished sixth with 418 points.
Liberty’s Chase McIntosh won the tournament by one stroke over Redmond freshman Ryan Ho, shooting a 71.
The district championships, which combine the Metro and KingCo schools, are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent.
