Lake Washington’s Alex Karulin stepped onto the medal podium four times at the 3A state swim and dive meet on Feb. 22 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
He finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (21.47), seventh in the 100-yard backstroke (52.55), seventh as part of the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.71) and eighth as part of the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:17.37). Other members of the relays were Noah Eilers, Josh Olson, Patrick Easter, Matthew Li and Alex Marlow.
Also for LW, Steffen Teutsch took seventh in the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.64), Aidan Richter took eighth in diving (314.15 points) and the 200-yard freestyle relay of Eilers, Marlow, Li and Easter took eighth (1:29.59).
