In the first KingCo match of the season, Lake Washington beat Mercer Island Tuesday evening.
After a long battle through the scoreless first half, the Kangs burst through the line with a shot by Jessica Scovel hitting the back of the net in the 65th minute of the game. She was assisted by Sara Crauer.
Lake Washington is now 1-1-1 this season.
Juantia began the regular season with a draw against Sammamish on Tuesday evening. The final score was 2-2.
Avery Linn scored an unassisted goal in the 70th minute for the Rebels.
No other scoring information for the game was available.
Lake Washington tied their first game of the season against non-league opponent Eastlake.
The Kangs and the Wolves ended the game with a 2-2 tie on Tuesday night at Lake Washington High School.
Kang Shelby Bergren scored first, assisted by Chloe Clowers in the 38th minute, followed by Eastlake’s Rebecca Priestly scoring moments later. Allie Garrett scored for Eastlake in the 63rd minute to give the Wolves a short lead, but Bergren connected again, this time assisted by Kaiti Brixey in the 76th minute.
In the Kangs second game of the week, they lost 4-1 to Issaquah in another non-conference game.
Emma Holm scored the team’s lone goal, assisted by Kaiti Brixey in the 25th minute, after Issaquah was already up by three goals.
The Kangs are now 0-1-1 this season.
The Juanita soccer team earned a big win over Ingraham on Saturday, winning 5-0. The Rebels scored the first goal in the 27th minute, when Haili Adams scored off an assist from Shelbi Walter. Adams would go on to score once more, in the 75th minute. Her teammate Kalia Bass picked up two goals during the game, once in the 37th minute and the second in the 78th minute, while Karissa Radke connected with Walter for the fifth goal.
