The Kirkland Softball 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars team defeated Falls, 28-0, on July 6.
Christina Minor, three innings, and Kya Aldrich, one inning, pitched four innings of no-hit softball with only one Falls player making it to base in the first inning on a walk.
Catcher Makenzie Reynolds threw out the only Falls base runner as she tried to steal second.
During the second inning, down only 3-0, a Falls batter tried to get something started with a bunt, but the play was sniffed out by the Kirkland infield and Hailey Story made a great play and throw to Ashlyn Cook shutting down any hope at momentum for Falls. On offense, Kirkland cruised with every player contributing production in the line-up.
Tonight, July 7, Kirkland will face Sammamish, one of the heavyweights of this tournament, at 6 p.m., on Everest field A in Kirkland.
