Kirkland All Stars win third regional game

The Kirkland Majors All Stars softball team earned their third convincing win at the Little League Western Regional tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The girls are now 3-0 in the tournament and move closer to the semifinal match.

The Kirkland Majors All Stars softball team earned their third convincing win at the Little League Western Regional tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The girls are now 3-0 in the tournament and move forward to the last game in pool play.

Tuesday afternoon they beat a team from Lewiston, Idaho 15-2. The team had 13 hits in the four inning game. Sophia Swain, Juliana Lynch and Clare Sovacool all had doubles during the game, while Brynn Radke, Caitlin Buckley, Swain, Talia Starr, Alex Hanger, Gianna Paribello, Kritina Warford and Lynch all had singles.

The team scored six runs in the first inning. Tori Bivens pitched the first two innings, striking out three, allowing one hit and giving up no runs. Starr pitched the remaining innings, striking out two and allowing two runs on one hit and four walks.

The team now moves into the last game in pool play, against Northern California at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern California is the only other undefeated team in the tournament. A win moves the team from Kirkland in the semifinals.
