Members of the Juanita and Lake Washington high school boys golf teams recently competed in the KingCo league and SeaKing district golf tournaments.

Both events took place at Willows Run golf course in Redmond, which has a course par of 36.

On Tuesday, Oct. 11 in the 3A KingCo tournament, Juanita’s Frank Garber won the event with a 73, while Steven Hopkins, of Lake Washington, was second with a 75. Lake Washington teammate JJ Schultz took 13th place with an 82.

The following Monday, Oct. 17, the teams faced off again, this time against KingCo and Metro opponents in the district tournament. Playing on the Eagle’s Talon course at Willows Run, with a par of 72, Lake Washington finished seventh as a team with 3.5 points. Individually Garber was third with a 74.

The qualifiers from the district competition earned spots to play in next spring’s state competition at the end of May.
