Kirkland Impact 15U boys win district championship | Sports briefs

The Impact boys 15U soccer team won the Washington state Youth Soccer Association district 2 Recreational Cup championship in November. The team clinched the title with a 3-1 win over the Force at Eastlake High School.

The Impact boys 15U soccer team won the Washington state Youth Soccer Association district 2 Recreational Cup championship in November. The team clinched the title with a 3-1 win over the Force at Eastlake High School.

The team won four games on their way to the district title, after a 7-0-3 regular season.

The players are all from Kamiakin Junior High and now the team advances to the state tournament based in Vancouver, Wash Dec. 4-5. A win at the state tournament would move the team in the state championship Dec. 11 at the Starfire complex in Tukwila.

The Impact roster includes the following players: Ryan Bartleson, Michael Cederblom, Conor Goodwin, Nicholas Goodwin, Kellen Harlington, Sean Joergensen, Austin Knerr, Pao Lor, Ryan Lundberg, Jonah Maki, Josef Mechure, Sam Merritt, Sean Nelson, Justin O’Farrell, Robert Snyder, Keegan Taggart, and Nahom Zaid. “The boys have made a lot of great memories for themselves, parents, and coaches”, said head coach Phil Goodwin. He is joined by assistant coaches Pat Bartleson and Steve Ellwood.
