Kirkland National Little League hosted its fifth annual FanFest Saturday at Big Finn Hill Park for 34 teams, as more than 500 people came to show their support for the local baseball and softball players.
“We use this entire event to build community,” said Kirkland National Little President Kristin Adams. “It gives perspective on the different levels of play. We make sure that everyone has an opportunity to participate.”
The event also hosted a skills competition following the opening cerimonies.
Sen. Andy Hill and Kirkland City Council members Deputy Mayor Penny Sweet, Dave Asher, Toby Nixon and Jay Arnold also attended the event to show their support for the organization.
