Kirkland senior tennis team takes second at nationals | Sports brief

The USTA League 3.0 senior team from Kirkland, representing the USTA Pacific Northwest, took second at the national championships in California last week.

The USTA League 3.0 senior team from Kirkland, representing the USTA Pacific Northwest, took second at the national championships in California last week.

The team, consisting of Vida Rousta, Cindy Zens, Penelope Lee, Linda Greenlaw, Cindy Zulch, Joyce Ismon, Mary Ann Iwanski, Lisa Moldren and Michele Lambert lost to Winchester, Va. 2-1 in the championship match. Earlier in the day the women from Kirkland beat Del Mar, Calif. 3-0 in the semifinals.

All of the women play at Central Park Tennis Club in Kirkland.
