Kirkland’s majors softball all-stars are tearing it up at the Western Regionals.
In San Bernardino, California, the state champs knocked off Oregon, 11-1, Alaska, 15-1, and Montana, 21-0. They will play in the semifinals against a team to be determined at 9 a.m. Thursday. The title game is at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The girls are Erin McKeag, Hailey Story, Emma Pascal, Ashlyn Cook, Kya Aldrich, Bella Ely, Kaidance Caiola, Emily Nielsen, Christina Minor, Mary Madaline Roe and Zoe Tarrach.
Against Alaska on July 21, Minor had two hits and earned the win with eight strikeouts in the four-inning game. Pascal had two hits and three RBIs and Caiola had two RBIs.
In the three-inning Montana win on July 22, Kirkland got two hits each from Caiola, Ely, Story (three RBIs) and Pascal (two RBIs). Aldrich, Cook and Roe had three RBIs each and Minor got the win with six strikeouts.
In another four-inning game against Oregon on July 24, Cook had two hits and four RBIs, Minor had two hits and scored three runs, Story had two RBIs and scored two runs, Nielsen had two RBIs and Caiola scored three runs. Pitchers Minor (three innings) and Aldrich (one inning) combined for the win.

The regionals winner will advance to the Little League World Series on Aug. 8-15 in Portland, Oregon.
