Inglemoor High senior Nick Laccinole set a school record in the mile on Saturday at the Pasco Invitational in the Tri-Cities.
Laccinole took second overall in the Elite Mile race, losing out to Rocky Mountain senior Michael Slagowski, but setting a mark of 4 minutes, 10.24 seconds, snapping the record previously set by Michael Mendenhall in 2012.
Laccinole is now the state leader in the 3,200 and 1,600 meter rankings.
Gavin Parpart placed third in the ‘open’ 1,600 meters with a new PR of 4:21.7, while Ethan Karlinsey took10th in the 800 meters in 1:58.5. Brayden Schultz also competed in the 3,200 meters.
Inglemoor’s Rebecca Ledsham competed in the girls’ Elite Mile, taking eighth in 5:09.5, a new season best.
• Nike Easton Invitational. Inglemoor senior Ruby Charney competed in Snohomish on Saturday, taking fourth in the shot put with a mark of 36 feet, 10.5 inches. Charney finished 16th in the discus competition with a mark of 93 feet, 1 inch.
Next, the Vikings are scheduled to compete with Liberty and Juanita at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 at Juanita High School.
