The Lake Washington High School girls fastpitch softball team traveled to Janicki Fields in Sedro Woolley to play in the District 1/2 2A softball tournament Wednesday and won both games played to advance to the state tournament.
The Kangs defeated Anacortes during the first-round game, 17-9. then defeated Lynden, 14-4, during the semi-finals to earn a berth to the Washington 2A State Tournament.
The finals of the district tournament will take place tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in Sedro Wooley, as the kangs take on Sultan. The winner earned the district championship and the No. 1 seed to state.
