The Lake Washington High School boys tennis team defeated Woodinville, 5-2, on Monday.
The Kangs’ No. 1 seed Shubhu Purohit defeated Eric Yang, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, while teammate Lyle Goldstein defeated Cole Stafford, 6-1, 6-1 and Aria Tabatabia defeated Rand Mattis, 6-0, 6-3. Esh Sathiyamoorthy of Woodinville defeated Jason Tipp, 6-3, 6-4.
The Kangs started slow in doubles action as Max Wig and Tyler Borjeson of Woodinville defeated Jacob Rumpf and Chris Gould, 7-6(5), 6-1. However, Alex Levine and Tsering Mitchell of Lake Washington beat Christian Brisbois and Drew Campton, 6-0, 6-4, and Kangs Peter Griff and Patrick Roller defeated Duncan Long and Sage Tanaka, 6-3, 6-2.
