The Lake Washington High girls’ soccer team got back to it’s winning ways on Thursday, Sept. 29, beating Sammamish 8-0 at Mac Field in Kirkland for the Kangs’ fourth conference victory of the season.
The Kangs (4-0-2 KingCo, 5-2-1) led 2-0 at halftime, having taken the lead in the 21st minute when Megan Lynch assisted freshman striker Jen Estes.
Natalie Vetto scored in the 35th minute and again in the 74th minute, also assisting Kelli McCarthy in the 70th minute.
Sakky Yoshida finished with two assists. Carlee Betterman, Lexi Johnson, Ella Ludwig and Justine Nelson also scored for Lake Washington.
Next, the Kangs are scheduled to play Mercer Island (4-0-2, 4-2-2) on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Mercer Island High School.
Juanita 1, Interlake 1.
The Rebels played to a conference draw with Interlake on Thursday evening at Bergh Field in Kirkland.
Junior Sophia Collins scored the goal for Juanita (1-2-3, 2-2-4), and was assisted by Colleen O’Neal.
Next, Juanita is scheduled to continue conference play with a match against Bellevue (4-0-2, 6-0-2) on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Bergh Field.
