The Lake Washington boys tried to repeat an earlier season win over Bellevue during the KingCo semifinals Tuesday evening, but lost in double overtime to the Wolverines 68-64.
The Kangs, who were down 37-23 at the half, and continued to trail until the fourth quarter. While holding Bellevue to 10 points in the final eight minutes, the Kangs surged with 17 points to tie the game at 54 a piece.
In the first overtime period both teams picked up six points, continuing the tie and forcing a second round. Bellevue outscored Lake Washington 8-4 to end the match with a Wolverine win.
With the loss the Kangs move into the consolation bracket to determine who will earn the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds going into the SeaKing district tournament. They will face Mount Si, a team that lost to Mercer Island, on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Bellevue College.
Against Bellevue Guy Lynott, Kramer Taylor and Darien Nelson-Henry each had 17 points, while Matt Staudacher had seven and Drew Doane and Robert Reyes had two.
