Lake Washington defeated Redmond, 21-3, in a 3A KingCo mini-playoff football game on Tuesday night to advance to the district playoffs. Earlier in the night at Skyline High, Mercer Island beat LW, 7-3, to advance to districts.
Both games consisted of two 12-minute quarters and took place since the three teams were tied with 3-2 league records at the end of the regular season. A coin flip last Friday night determined the order in which the teams would play.
MI is the No. 2 KingCo seed to districts and LW is the No. 3 seed. Bellevue is the No. 1 seed with a 5-0 league record.
LW (8-3 overall) will travel to Mountain View (7-2) for a 7 p.m. matchup on Saturday night in Vancouver.
