The Lake Washington High School girls basketball team escaped Auburn High School Wednesday with a slim 55-52 win to start the season. The two teams were tied up at 43-43 after three quarters of play and defense was the name of the game during the final period. The two teams combined for just 15 points during the fourth quarter. Kasey Coffey (14 points) and Hunter Hopkins (10) led the Kangs on offense during the game. The team did a good job of moving the ball around with eight different players putting the ball through the net. The Kangs will travel to Woodinville for a 7:30 p.m. tip off Wednesday.
