In another dramatic KingCo tournament game, the Lake Washington girls basketball team lost to Liberty Tuesday afternoon 42-41.

In another dramatic KingCo tournament game, the Lake Washington girls basketball team lost to Liberty Tuesday afternoon 42-41.

The Kangs, which came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed, were down 17-10 after the first quarter, but rallied to take the lead at the end of the half 23-22.

Lake Washington continued to lead at  the end of the third, but were held to just nine points in the final minutes, while Liberty scored 16 points to win the game.

Cassie Lively and Hunter Hopkins had 11 points during the game, while Whitney Dunlap had eight overall, followed by six from Peyton Wozeniak. Sara Wilson added three, while Margo Lynott had two points.

The Kangs will play Juanita on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. for third/fourth place in the tournament. Both team will move forward to the SeaKing district tournament, but will place Thursday at Bellevue College for seeding.
