During the holiday break the Lake Washington girls traveled to Oregon for the South Salem Christmas Tournament, beating the home team on the final day of the tournament.
The Lady Kangs beat South Salem 45-42 on Dec. 23. The team had a one point deficit with a 20-19 score going into the half but rebounded with two 13 point quarters in the second half, while holding South Salem to 11 points in both quarter.
Kat Whitfied had the team high of 16 points, while Taylor Solomon added 13 points and Hunter Hopkins put up nine points. Melissa Wilson and Peyton Wozeniak each added three to the mix, with one point from Cassie Lively.
The Kangs are 6-3 this season and will face Bellevue on Friday, Jan. 7 in the first league game after the break.
