Lake Washington’s gymnasts snagged the 3A District 2 team title with 183 points on Saturday at Ballard High. Sammamish took second with 179.525 and Juanita placed third with 179.200.
LW and Sammamish qualify for state as teams and Juanita sends a handful of gymnasts to state as well. The event takes place Feb. 20-22 at Sammamish High in Bellevue.
In the all-around, LW’s Laly Noriega took third (37.525) and Juanita’s Emma Harrington took fourth (37.400). Harrington qualifies for state in the all-around.
On vault, LW’s Ellery Gilmer took fourth (9.525) and Juanita’s Alli Lofquist took fifth (9.520). Lofquist and Juanita’s Gloria Wang qualify for state on this event.
On bars, Wang tied for second (9.600) and Juanita’s Daphanie Chan took fifth (9.500). Both qualify for state on this event along with Lofquist.
On beam, LW’s Courteney Hori took third (9.325) and LW’s Peyton Yoshida tied for fourth (9.250). Juanita’s Lofquist and Chan qualify for state on beam.
And on floor, Noriega took third (9.600) and Harrington took fourth (9.575). Juanita’s Lofquist, Chan and Wang qualify for state on floor.
LW’s other team members are Annika Reeve, Nicole Tribolet and Sydney Rabuchin.
