The Lake Washington High School volleyball team pushed Bellevue to the limit Thursday but was unable to get the right combination during a tiebreaker, losing 3-2 on Thursday in Kirkland.
The first game was indicative of the entire match, as the two teams battled for control and never gave an inch. Lake Washington pulled out the victory 29-27. The Kangs took a bigger lead with a 25-23 second-game victory. But Bellevue came back 25-19 and 25-22 victories to tie up the match.
The final tiebreaker was a test of wills but the Wolverines earned the points when they were most needed with a 16-14 victory.
