The Lake Washington High School boys swim and dive team finished second at Districts on Saturday with 213 points, placing higher than the 2013 AA State Champion Arch Bishiop Murphy. Anacortes won the meet with 233 points.
Kang Austin Lashley led the team with victories in the 50-yard freestyle (22.42 seconds) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.42) and was named the Swimmer of the Meet.
Lashley also helped teammates Kris Singstad, Sasha Oelsner and Connor Gerth to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:45.08, as the team dropped 1.20 seconds off their best time. The team of Elijah Singstad, Nick Reeves, Oelsner and Lashley won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:31.34).
Reeves won the 100-yard breaststroke final with a time of 1:03.24, beating the second-place swimmer by more than two seconds. Oelshner finished third during the same race (1:06.12).
Keith Cole finished sixth in diving for Lake Washington, posting a score of 285.30.
Elijah Singstad had one of his best meets, finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle (49.85) and earned a fourth-place finish during the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.49. Teammate Sam Marvin finished eighth (2:19.13) in the same race.
Marvin also finished 10th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.65), while teammate Ian McRea finished right behind him in 11th place (1:03.34).
Reeves finished seventh during the 100-yard freestyle (51.76). Lake Washington’s Teddy Crane finished seventh overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.40, while Norred finished 11th overall (2:14.07). Crane also took 10th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:41.29), with McRae in 11th (6:07.46).
Kris Singstad took eight in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.92.
Crane, Kris Singstad, Reeves and Elijah Singstad finished strong for Lake Washington placing fifth during the finals of the 400-yard relay with a time of 3:30.30. The finish time earned the team a spot at state by more than three seconds.
