The Lake Washington High boys basketball team fell short on Tuesday in Renton, rallying from a 17-9 first quarter deficit but fading in the final moments.
Liberty won the game 64-55, hitting from the free-throw line down the stretch for the Patriots’ fifth conference victory.
Lake Washington post Griffin Barker put up his biggest game in several weeks with 22 points and 11 rebounds, both game highs. Barker hit nine of 12 attempts from the field.
Senior Sam Linsky had nine points and seven boards. Beau Heimdahl and Dalton Liesse both had eight points.
Jake Elfstrom led Liberty (5-1 KingCo, 8-3) with 21 points in the win.
Lake Washington fell to 3-4 in conference play and 5-4 on the season.
Next, the Kangs are scheduled to play Interlake at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 in Bellevue.
Juanita 65, Redmond 55
The Rebels pulled out of a halftime tie, outscoring Redmond by four in the third quarter and six in the fourth quarter to snap a three-game losing skid on Tuesday at the Juanita Fieldhouse in Kirkland.
Juanita’s last win came in the third round of the Bothell Holiday Tournament on Dec. 30.
Next, the Rebels (3-5, 6-8) are scheduled to play Sammamish at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 at Sammamish High School.
