The Kangs earned both goals in the first half, followed by a stalemate in the second, but it was enough to earn the Kangs a win.

Shelby Bergren connected with the goal off an assist from Kennedy Nicholson in the 25th minute of the match. Seven minutes later the team made a run again, this time with Kaiti Brixey putting the ball past Juanita goalie Shelby Hill. Brixey was assisted by Sara Crauer and Cassie Lively.

In 3A KingCo standings, the Kangs sit in third place with a 5-2 league record and at 5-3-1 overall. The Rebels are currently 0-6-1 this season in league games, and 1-7-1 overall.

Lake Washington will host Mercer Island on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. while Juanita will host Sammamish on Thursday evening.

Lake Washington shut out Bellevue on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Wolverine stadium. The Kangs won with a 2-0 score.

The game remained scoreless through the first half, but in the beginning of the second, Cassie Lively dropped the ball to Emma Holm who snuck it past the Bellevue goalie in the 57th minute for a 1-0 game. Holm scored again, two minutes alter on a free kick after a Bellevue foul.

Lake Washington goalie Maeve O’Connor earned her third shutout of the season with the win.

Thursday, the Kangs hosted Sammamish, winning with another shutout, this time 5-0.

Kaiti Brixey earned the team’s first goal, assisted by Holm in the 14th minute. The team quickly struck again, scoring in the 16th minute with an Emily Bunnell goal, this time assisted by Lively. Lively scored two goals of her own, in the 23rd minute and then again in the 50th minute. Shelby Bergren had the final goal of the night in the 59th minute.

Juanita lost to Liberty 4-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 27 in a KingCo match.

Liberty struck with their first goal in the second half, scoring in the 55th minute, followed by another goal 10 minutes later. The team scored two more goals late in the second half to win the game.

On Thursday, the Rebels hosted Interlake, losing 4-1. Emily Johnson scored the team’s only goal, assisted by Haili Adams in the 52nd minute to tie the game 1-1. Interlake went on to score three more times to take the win.
