Lake Washington to face Mercer Island for 3A KingCo baseball title tonight

There were no lightning strikes on Friday, but Lake Washington struck for a 5-0 victory over Bellevue in the 3A KingCo baseball playoffs at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

The semifinal game was postponed because of Thursday’s storm and the teams were raring to go on Friday.

LW lefty Nick Ludwig hurled a complete game, fanned seven and surrendered just four hits.

For the Kangs, I-Ly Hsue had two hits and two RBIs, Travis Lee had two hits, Brayden Boyes had two hits and one RBI and Michael Buchanan had one hit and one RBI.

LW will try for a KingCo championship three-peat when it faces top-ranked Mercer Island at 7 p.m. tonight at Bannerwood.

MI defeated Juanita, 7-1, on Friday in the semis.

JD Worcester had two hits and an RBI for Juanita.

Juanita will face Bellevue at 4 p.m. today in a loser-out game at Bannerwood.
