The Lake Washington High School girls soccer team gave up two late goals in a 3-2 loss to Mercer Island on Thursday in Kirkland.

The Lake Washington High School girls soccer team gave up two late goals in a 3-2 loss to Mercer Island on Thursday in Kirkland.

The Kangs held the lead during the first half thanks to a goal from Grace Sturdevant and an assist by Anna Henderson.

The Islanders tied the game on their first possession just after half time but Lake Washington would take it back during the 42nd minute of play, as Henderson took a Sakky Yoshida pass and put into the back of the Islander goal.

Two late goals tied the game and allowed Mercer island to sneak away with the victory.

The Kangs will try to get back on track at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, as they travel to Bellevue to take on Interlake.
