The Lightning FC soccer team recently won their district championships. As part of the Washington Youth Soccer Association's Recreation Cup, the win allowed the team to advance to the state tournament.

The Lightning FC soccer team recently won their district championships. As part of the Washington Youth Soccer Association’s Recreation Cup, the win allowed the team to advance to the state tournament.

After winning their first state game the team will play this weekend in the final state games on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila.

The team consists of eighth graders from Finn Hill Junior High in Kirkland.

The team includes Kyle Ullery, Christian Turner, Cade Totten, Tom Mikkelson, Blake Voutour, James McCool, Jayson Edwards, Tanner O’Rourke, Marito Binag, Brendan Bauer, Qais Najm, Tyler Hill, Ben Zabback, Bjorn Warford, Ben Fries, Jackson Clemenson and Phillip Lavery. They are coached by Eric Ullery, Mike McCool and assistant coach Riley O’Rourke.
