Lake Washington and Juanita’s softball teams are still alive in the 3A SeaKing District tournament.
LW beat Ballard, 8-6, and Juanita split a pair of games, a 6-5 loss to Holy Names Academy and a 16-3 win over Ballard, on Wednesday at the Southeast Athletic Complex in Seattle.
LW will play Holy Names at 6 p.m. tonight at the Southwest Athletic Complex in Seattle, and Juanita will take on Garfield at 6 p.m. at the Southeast Athletic Complex.
In Wednesday’s game for LW, Marissa Ewald had three hits — including a homer — and two RBIs, Anna Robinson had two hits and two RBIs and Tori Bivens got the victory with nine strikeouts.
For Juanita against Ballard, Kristina Warford had three hits — including a homer — and six RBIs and Sasha Mitchell had three hits and one RBI.
Juanita’s meeting with Holy Names was a nail-biter with the game coming down to the last inning.
Down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Holy Names scored two runs, including a walkoff single, to earn the victory.
Warford had four hits and Jordan Schroeder had two hits and three RBIs for Juanita.
