Three competitive divisions, three first place trophies. The day could not have gone better for the Lake Washington High School Dance Team at the Edmonds Woodway Competition on Jan. 17.

The 33-member squad dominated the pom, drill and kick categories at the competition. Teams from all over Western Washington traveled to the Edmonds area high school including squads from Mercer Island, Puyallup, Lakewood, Federal Way, Burien, Maple Valley, and Shoreline.

Lake Washington’s Kang Dance Team is once again fielding a dedicated group of athletes who consistently demonstrate endurance, talent, tenacity and poise each time they take the floor. As the team focuses on district and state competitions coming up in March, these young women appear to be strong contenders for top honors. Coach Lindsey Beck has built a strong program at Lake Washington over the last three years and has high hopes for the Kang Dance Team again this year.
