Lake Washington’s Shubhu Purohit has yet to lose a game on his way to the semifinals of the Class 3A KingCo boys’ singles

Lake Washington’s No. 1 man remains perfect.

Shubu Purohit swept his way to the semifinals in the singles bracket at the Class 3A KingCo tennis tournament on Monday at Mercer Island High School. Purohit, the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, beat Interlake’s Jason Qian 6-0, 6-0 and beat Redmond’sRishi Mukundan 6-0, 6-0.

Purohit is scheduled to take on Mercer Island’s fourth-seeded Zach Chew at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 in the semifinals.

But Purohit isn’t the only Kang into the semis. Third-seeded Alex Levine beat Juanita’s Nick Lammers, the Rebels’ No. 1 singles player, in the first round on Monday.

Levine then beat Mercer Island’s Alex Kaelin 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

Juanita’s Sahir Karmali was knocked out in the first round.

Lake Washington also has two doubles pairings still in the running. Ricky Koishida and Chris Gould won 6-3, 6-4 in the first round, but lost in the quarterfinals. Jason Tipp and Patrick Roller also won in the first round, but fell into consolation during the afternoon matches.

Both Juanita doubles pairings lost in the first round.

Consolation is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11. The Consolation bracket plays for 5th in conference.
