The North Kirkland Boyz baseball team, a group of 9- and 10-year-olds from the Kingsgate, Juanita and Finn Hill neighborhoods, took second in a tournament in Issaquah. They also earned another second place trophy at another tournament earlier in the summer.
The team was started by Mark Peterson, who coaching with Jesse West, Jeff Trautmann, Dan Decker and Rick and Dolly West.

The opening ceremony ruffled a few feathers, but when it came to the sports themselves, the fans were fantastic this year.
