Northwest University garners CCC All-Conference awards

The 2014 Cascade Collegiate Conference champion Northwest University Eagles landed seven players and their head coach on the All-Conference team announced Nov. 17 by the league office.

The 2014 Cascade Collegiate Conference champion Northwest University Eagles landed seven players and their head coach on the All-Conference team announced Nov. 17 by the league office.

Acacia Johnson, Eagle senior from Puyallup earned co-offensive player of the year honors along with Jasmin Ayala of Concordia. Johnson led the league in goals with 17 and in points with 36.

NU head coach, Val Seid, was named co-coach of the year with Holly Popunuk of Warner Pacific. Coach Seid led the Eagles to a first place finish in the CCC and has a two year combined record of 21-12-4 since taking of the head coaching responsibilities last season.

Named to the first team, All-CCC team were: Senior Patty Hughes of Kalispell, Mont.; junior Samantha Porter of Gresham, Ore.; junior Kelsey Greene of Sherwood, Ore.; and senior Acacia Johnson of Puyallup, Wash.

Senior Annie-Brynn (Stauffer) Gleason of Spokane, Wash., was named to the second team, All-CCC.

Earning honorable mention honors were junior Tatyana Reveles of Oxnard, Calif., and sophomore Tiffany Taylor of Klamath Falls, Ore.
