The Northwest University women’s basketball team nabbed a 66-44 Cascade Conference victory over Evergreen on Tuesday in the Constantino Recreation Center in Olympia.
The win snapped a six game losing streak for the Eagles (4-6 Cascade, 9-11), who led 13-8 after the first quarter and 31-23 at halftime.
Northwest opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run and took a 57-30 lead late in the period.
Hannah Carlson led Northwest with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Paige Burson and Mariah Stacona each scored 9 points for NU as 11 out of 13 players scored in the game.
Zaria Jones led Evergreen (2-8, 3-14) with 14 points. Gabi Fenumiai had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Autumn Moorcroft contributed 8 points and 12 rebounds for the Geoducks. Evergreen shot just 25 percent for the game and committed 21 turnovers.
