The Northwest University women’s soccer program announced the signing of Madison Morrow to a letter of intent for the fall of 2017.
Morrow is a senior at West Linn High School in West Linn, Ore., and will graduate in the spring, 2017. The Lions finished second in the league with a 5-1-2 record, and Morrow earned a Class 6A Three Rivers League honorable mention.
“Mady is my first signing and I feel like she represents everything this program is about,” NU coach Bryan Chud said. “She is hard-working, a talented player, and will be a great fit for Northwest U on and off the field. In addition to her work-rate, she has great technical ability, movement, and intelligence. She will be a great offensive option for us, able to operate as a midfielder or striker.
Chud said Morrow had interest from other Cascade Collegiate Conference programs, in addition to Northwest.
“The competition to sign Mady was stiff from within the conference, so I am very pleased that she has chosen NU,” Chud said. “I have no doubt Mady will play a large role in the future success of this program, and look forward to working with her the next four years.”
The Northwest University women made the NAIA semifinals last fall after finishing second in the conference tournament. It was Chud’s first season as head coach, and the Eagles upset three nationally-ranked teams before falling to the eventual national champion, Northwestern Ohio, in the final four.
Morrow plans to major in nursing.
