Northwest University’s Jonathan Ferguson capped off his senior outdoor season by capturing the Cascade Collegiate Conference 800 meter title in a win against Gary Fanelli of Southern Oregon on Satruday.
Ferguson broke away with 150 meters to go, held the lead and edged out Fanelli at the finish line by .34 seconds. Jonathan crossed the line at 1:55.01 with Fanelli close by at 1:55.35. He will now begin preparing for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 26-28.
Junior Michelle Perez finished third in the women’s long jump with a distance of 5.53 meters (18-01.75) with teammate CarrieAnne Steele right behind her in fourth with a leap of 5.40 meters (17-08.75).
