Lake Washington’s Hannah Walker’s two-run homer was just icing on the cake for the Kangs on Thursday afternoon as the Lake Washington High softball team hammered Juanita, 10-2, in a 3A KingCo game at Juanita High School.

Walker blasted a fly ball over the center field fence in the top of the sixth inning, scoring the final runs of the game on her only hit of the day.

The Kangs (8-2 overall, 8-0) won their eighth game in a row, and clinched the season series from Juanita with one game remaining between the crosstown rivals. The Rebels (7-5, 7-3) sit three games behind Lake Washington in the KingCo League standings, with just over three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Lake Washington scored six runs in the top of the first inning, led by a two-RBI double from Tori Bivens. Olivia Smallman, along with Bivens and Walker, finished with two RBIs.

Bivens pitched a complete game for the Kangs, finishing with eight strikeouts and six hits.

Juanita’s first points came on a two-out single from Kristina Warford in the bottom of the third inning, batting home Brynn Radke. On the next pitch, Lexi Blackburn doubled to right field, scoring Warford.

Blackburn batted Warford home a second time in the bottom of the seventh.

Next, Lake Washington is scheduled to play Sammamish at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, in Kirkland. Juanita High is scheduled to play at Bellevue High School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18.
